Time slip on the train!? Let's make paper fossils 2000 years from now!
電車に乗ってタイムスリップ !？ 2000年後の紙の化石を作ろう！
Let's make a "fossil paper" with Toshiyuki Shibakawa, an exhibitor, by copying the irregularity of the locomotive on paper with a roller, or by copying familiar things on the train! Finally, color it to make it vivid.
The finished product will be pasted on windows of the Tokyo Station Gallery and stained glass will be made in 2000 years. (text: flyers)

◎講師：柴川敏之（出品作家：美術家、就実短期大学教授）
◎内容：出品作家の柴川敏之さんと一緒に、機関車の凸凹をローラーで紙に写し取ったり、電車の中で身近なものを写し取って「紙の化石」を作ろう！ 最後に色を塗って鮮やかに仕上げましょう。
できあがった作品は、東京ステーションギャラリーの窓に貼り、2000年後のステンドグラスを作る予定。（text:チラシ）
In the fall of 2012, the Tokyo Station Gallery will resume its activities. This exhibition was designed to celebrate the completion of restoration work at Tokyo Station (Designed by TATSUNO Kingo), which took 6 and a half years since 2006. This is an ambitious art work by 9 artists. The exhibits were created from the perspective of "Tokyo Station" or "Railroads".
Tokyo Station, which opened in 1914 and has been used as the starting point of Japanese railways for 1 century, has been a setting for historical events and is deeply imprinted in people's memories as it is often featured in literary and artistic works. Five artists, AKIYAMA Sayaka, SHIBAKAWA Toshiyuki, HIROMURA Masaaki, HONJO Naosue and YAMAGAMI Yukihiro, create works based on the Tokyo Station motif.
The history of railways is also the history of modernization of Japan. It is no exaggeration to say that railways are a symbol of the modernization that Japan has achieved through international exchanges since the Meiji Restoration. OZU Daisaku, KUWAKUBO ryota, PARAMODEL, and HIROSE Michitaka exhibit works inspired by or created from the use of railways.
One of the main features of our building is the historical exhibition room that makes use of the original brick wall. Please enjoy the unique world of works created by unique artists in a space with a unique atmosphere. (text: flyers)
In addition to the exhibition room, SHIBAKAWA Toshiyuki exhibits 10 works on the wall of the entrance hall on the 1st floor, which looks like a stratum 2000 years later. Look at the fossils on the brick wall (Please see the answer at the reception.). In addition, the following workshops will be held as a related project during the session.

◎内容：2012年秋、東京ステーションギャラリーが活動を再開します。本展は、2006年以来、足かけ６年半にわたった東京駅（設計：辰野金吾）の復原工事完成を祝う展覧会として企画されました。９人(組)の作家たちによる意欲的なアート作品をご覧いただきます。出品されるのは、「東京駅」あるいは 「鉄道」という視点から発想された作品です。
1914年に開業し、日本の鉄道の起点として1世紀にわたって利用されてきた東京駅は、時に歴史的事件の舞台となり、文学作品や美術作品にも多く取り上げられるなど、人々の記憶に深く刻み込まれています。この東京駅をモティーフに作品を制作するのは、秋山さやか、柴川敏之、廣村正彰、 本城直季、ヤマガミユキヒロの５人の作家たちです。
鉄道の歴史は、日本の近代化の歴史でもあります。鉄道は、日本という国が明治維新以降、海外との交流を通して成し遂げてきた近代化の象徴と言っても過言ではありません。大洲大作、クワクボリョウタ、パラモデル、廣 瀬通孝は、鉄道を発想源にした、あるいは鉄道を使うことから生み出された 作品を出品します。
創建当時の煉瓦壁を生かした、歴史を感じさせる展示室は、当館の大きな特色のひとつです。独特の雰囲気を持つ空間の中で展開される、個性あふれる作家たちのユニークな作品世界をお楽しみください。（text:チラシ）
尚、柴川は展示室の他、2000年後の地層に見立てた１階エントランスホールの壁面にも１０作品展示しています。レンガの壁面から化石作品を目で発掘してみてください（答えは受付でご覧ください）。また、会期中に関連企画として以下のワークショップを開催します。
