This workshop invited participants to travel through time and imagine the world 2000 years from now, envisioning modern society from the perspective of the 41st century. Students considered how familiar objects (stationery, mobile phones, etc.) might be discovered as fossils in the distant future, and thought about what Earth will be like 2000 years from now.

*John Muir School, located in Ashland, Oregon, emphasizes arts and natural science education. The school's gate and garden were handmade by parents and staff. With 103 students enrolled across 4 multi-age classes, it is a unique school that actively implements participatory experiential education connecting knowledge and experience. Each day begins with a morning assembly featuring music and student creative presentations, and every Friday the entire school goes on field trips.

◎内容：オレゴン州アッシュランド市のJohn Muir Schoolで、幼稚園児から中学生まで103名を対象にワークショップを行った。
2000年後の未来から現在を振り返るという設定で、身近な物を使って「化石」を制作。自由な教室の雰囲気の中、子どもたちは驚いた表情を見せたり、喜んで相撲の力士のマネを一緒にしてくれたりと、のびのびと反応してくれた。年齢も学年も異なる子どもたちが、それぞれの視点で未来と現在について考える様子が印象的であった。

＊John Muir Schoolは芸術と自然科学教育に重点を置く学校で、保護者やスタッフの手作りによる門や園庭があり、毎朝の全校集会で音楽や創作作品の発表から一日が始まる。毎週金曜日は学校外へ全員で出かけるなど、体験型教育を盛んに行っている特色ある学校である。
