柴川敏之展｜2000年後の化石絵巻

Many fossils including ammonite have been found in Mine City, where Akiyoshidai International Art Village is located. What is the future of our present day? Toshiyuki Shibakawa, an artist whose theme is 2000 years from now, discovers our modern life as fossils from the future 2000 years from now. Focusing on the fossils and strata of Akiyoshidai, we will exhibit the workshop work (The other side shows how to participate.) which is inspired by Sesshu's picture scrolls, and the fossils of (Cellular phones, Kewpie dolls, etc.) a contemporary familiar object excavated 2000 years later by Shibakawa. I hope that this exhibition and the workshop will help you reconsider the way of living today from a future perspective and give you a hint to think about the present. (text: flyers)

◎内容：秋吉台国際芸術村のある美祢市からは、アンモナイト等のたくさんの化石が発見されています。私たちの住む現代は、未来から見るとどうなっているのでしょうか？ 2000年後をテーマに制作をしている美術家・柴川敏之は、2000年後の未来から現代の私たちの生活を化石として発掘します。秋吉台の化石や地層に着目し、雪舟の絵巻物をイメージしたワークショップ作品（参加方法は裏面）と、柴川氏が制作した2000年後に発掘された現代の身近な物（携帯電話やキューピー人形等）の化石を合わせて展示します。本展およびワークショップにより、未来の視点から現代の生き方を見つめ直し、現代を考えるヒントにしていただければと思います。（text:チラシ）
